“We are all complicated individuals with different facets to our personalities.” - Renata Sajko
Renata Sajko is an Australian singer, songwriter and producer. Renata started performing professionally at the age of 16, fronting her original band Cynix for which she wrote the majority of material and concealing her age to sing in Richmond pubs with her band.
She secured a two single/four album record deal with Mushroom Records, but left the label before her album was released to pursue her individual style. Subsequently also propositioned by EMI, Renata has remained independent. “It wasn’t me. I didn’t have artistic control and I wanted control over my own music,” Sajko said. “It is important to me to believe in the final song, its production, video, and marketing. I also dislike being boxed into one genre. We are all complicated individuals with different facets to our personality. Why not use these facets to communicate different expressions?”
Following her debut album Hidden Gems, which she loved writing and performing with John Dabbs from Detroit under their band name Constant Revelation, Renata spent a year concentrating solely on song writing, before turning to producing and releasing her first single - “SORRY”
With a renewed focus on experimentation and sonic exploration, Renata is pushing herself to new creative heights and exploring new territory in her music. She is committed and is constantly exploring new sounds and ideas to push her music forward. She is constantly learning and when in the studio recording new tracks, Renata is always striving to create the best possible musical experience for her listeners.
With more and more venues supporting independent musicians, Renata is planning several up and coming live shows - using the stage and technology to connect with fans through her music and production in Ableton Live. With her talent and dedication, Renata is sure to continue to grow as an artist and leave a lasting impact on the music industry.
